Lone Star) three tracks remained. Gulf Coast Chapter NRHS cars on the left. Check out all the Missouri Pacific station wagons. (3) Two cars here this day. Missouri Pacific business car 9 and ex-Great Northern buffet-lounge observation Appekunny Mountain. Date: 01/17/17 05:09 Re: ex-GN Appekunny Mtn at Houston Union St -- April 75 Author: gcm (4-6) Appekunny Mtn was built in 1950 by AC&F for the Empire Builder.
It was in Houston for a number of years owned by Grant Supply Co. I'm not sure if they owned it at this time. Date: 01/17/17 05:10 Re: ex-GN Appekunny Mtn at Houston Union St -- April 75 Author: gcm (7-8) Later the car was painted to SP Daylight colors for the World's Fair Daylight train
between Portland and New Orleans. I believe the car is now with the California Northern RR painted in their colors. The track area at Union Station is now the Astros Minute Maid Park.
