Nostalgia & History > TRRA Switching St. Louis Union Station, 1963Date: 04/21/17 18:01 TRRA Switching St. Louis Union Station, 1963 Author: MartyBernard Roger Puta arrived at St. Louis Union Station in the cab of FRISCO E8A 2021 leading (actually backing into the depot) Train 808, The Sunnyland, on April 16, 1963.
1. Out the window TRRA 506 was switching baggage cars. 506, and 503 in the background, were SW1s. 2. Roger also captured TRRA Baldwin VO-1000 591 built July 18, 1941 and traded to EMD in 1964. Sitting on the front porch of an idling diesel switcher between switching moves, like the switchman in the red shirt is doing, was just perfect. Enjoy, Marty Bernard Edited 1 time(s). Perfect walking distance to watch Cards games at Busch or Blues hockey at Scottrade. The new multimodal station (Amtrak, Greyhound) is a stones throw SW of here.
