Nostalgia & History > Colorful trains through Newhall, CA.Date: 05/15/17 09:50 Colorful trains through Newhall, CA. Author: lamta_jay While working in Newhall, California for 6 years I enjoyed the
few freights that came through. Every morning after the Metrolink rush we had a intermodal train and was never sure what the train symbol was but was always a surprise to see what was pulling the train. Most of these taken at 13th Street crossing and a few at the Metrolink platform. First in 1994 @ 13th St. Crossing PTLAT ? Second in 1999 Third in June of 2000 I have more...thanks for looking Jay Date: 05/15/17 09:54 Re: Colorful trains through Newhall, CA. Eight is again headed through the platform at the Metrolink platform. Its been YEARS since I have been here and am sure there has been many changes. I do regret not taking any Saugus Local pics but work always came first. Again, thanks for looking ! Jay Date: 05/15/17 16:48 Re: Colorful trains through Newhall, CA. Author: SoCalConductor Thank you for these shots! My all time favorite time period of railroading was the 90's. It takes me back to when I was a young kid being trackside.

I think I've mentioned before, I worked at the hobby shop just up S.F. Road during 1991-1993. I remember the PTLAF and cans, but not much else. We had a back door next to Kmart I'd sneak out of just to see what was going by. Great times all around and never thought it would end! Thanks for sharing!
