Swung by the BN yard on the way back to find a GP30. My favorite is UP 3725 and train on the curve under the bridge.
Thanks for sharing these. Bob Date: 07/11/17 05:48 Re: 1993: April in Cheyenne meant SD60M's Author: Bob3985 Great coverage of Cheyenne back then. The area around the roundhouse no longer looks anything like you captured and it is filled with passenger cars on the ground for storage plus construction work building an underground dam and collection point for hazmats. And the Firebird Motel building still stands but is no longer a motel.

Would love to see any shots from Cheyenne today...as in then and now. B&OBill Date: 07/11/17 07:19 Re: 1993: April in Cheyenne meant SD60M's Author: BigSkyBlue I like the simple paint scheme used by UP at the time: No zig zag, no flag, no slogan. Just the herald on the nose, number, and UNION PACIFIC on the hood.

It's a neat place and have great memories of my visit there in the 1980's. Date: 07/14/17 09:32 Re: 1993: April in Cheyenne meant SD60M's Author: chakk I pity the poor occupants of the Pioneer sleeper directly behind the locomotive.
