Nostalgia & History > Shoving on an eastward train in the shadow of Mt ShastaDate: 07/10/17 19:04 Shoving on an eastward train in the shadow of Mt Shasta Author: photobob After getting out of the service in May 1967I was ready for a little rail fanning. I took a trip up to Andesite to get back into the swing of things. This was one of my first shots of SD40's which came into being while I was away. The PFE Reefer was only a couple of months old at the time.Mt Shasta was covered by smoke from summer wildfires in Oregon.Ah it was good to be home a far cry from my time in the jungles of Panama.
