2 BCRail Electrics at Techeeda, BC
Author: MartyBernard

I shot these as the northbound RDC excursion train rolled by on May 23, 1992.

1. BCOL 6004, a GMD GF6C, built 1983, retired 2000, and scrapped 2004

2. BCOL 6001, a GMD GF6C, built 1983, retired 2000, and donated to Prince George Railway Museum

3. Both BCOL 6001 and 6004

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Back when the future looked promising instead of threatening perhaps.

Nice catch of the A-6 speeder with a two colour Red/blue BC Rail herald. Most I remember were black.

I really liked the PGE/BCR green scheme and was sorry to see it go.  (As I understand it, the Provincial Government insisted on the change- is that true?)  It would have been interesting to see how it would have been applied to these motors.

Provincial colours of British Columbia are Red, White and Blue. That's why BC Rail used them.

Yes, I understand the significance of the colors.  But was the changeover (Green to RW&B) on the BCR at the request of Victoria?  My understanding was that the Province wanted all supported services using RW&B.

The way I understand it was that the provincial funds came with conditions attached.
One of them being that Red, White and Blue will be used.

Okay, that's what I'd heard or read somewhere years ago.
Thanks.
