It was the evening of August 26, 1987 in Smithville, Ohio, and the light was failing. The only way I could have both a high shutter speed and depth of field was to do a broadside at F1.4 or F2. There wasn't enough light to get a "coming-at-me" photo.
Here is NKP 765 speeding south to Orrville, Ohio on the N&W.

Wow, the way the engine setup with the cars and the mars light looks like today's 765 running. But I still love the quality of this photo. It brings out all light and color of the engine and cars. Also very great photo quality. By the way, did you see the 765 on our layout in the roundhouse?
