BB: Sleeping Giants ... DM&IR Yellowstones

Bruce Black took this shot of DM&IR Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 #223 (& friends!) at Proctor, MN on Aug. 4 1962. Built in 1941, records show it was retired in 1963.

Bet Bruce shed a tear seeing the DM&IR Yellowstones rusting away. Wonder if he tried buying a bell off one of those giants?

It's amazing they were still around at that late date! It's a shame more weren't saved!!
