WAG Wednesday: Mile High Challenger

It’s getting late in the game for fans of Uncle Pete’s water heaters, both large & small! In 1955 Bill Gibson was in Denver and shot a long deadline of Union Pacific steam. I’m sure he was much happier shooting a live Challenger ready for another day’s work. Here’s a depressing shot from the UP steam morgue plus a much more cheery live roster shot. Hey gang: As I was doing my routine filing away of this latest WAG Wednesday I ran across a previous thread with this same UP 3959 in a fantastic photo. She was on the point of a train leaving Denver the next day. It's quite a remarkable shot, well worth a second look! Here's a link:
