Akron Memory (Fifteen) - B&O 3776
Author: refarkas

B&O 3776 is westbound through Akron, Ohio in September 1980. The three on the cab is in Santa Fe font because this locomotive was on recent lease to the Santa Fe which renumbered the locomotive when in use there and had to renumber it back when 3776 was returned.
Notice the seven tracks there. Barely visible on the far left was the track that went to the yard and also went uphill to several industries on the west side of the EL McCoy Street Yard. Track two was used by the EL McCoy Street Yard. Tracks three and four are the EL mainline tracks. Tracks five and six were the Chessie System main line. (These two are still used by the CSX today.) The track on the far right was a Conrail branch line to Hudson, Ohio. Only the two CSX tracks remain. The rest plus the EL yard are only memories.

Definitely like the B&O blue units!
Overall, nice action photo with an interesting background, downtown Akron.
