SP Train 28 the "Overland" leaving Martinez early 1960's

I believe when I took this shot the "Overland" was trying to get dumped by the SP. The mail contract was gone so for awhile it ran as a three car train. I forgot what year I took this.

You've gotta love those PA-1's.  It's always nice to see the train number displayed too.  When SP started using the lead unit number, everything went downhill.

Very interesting photo. Never saw a photo of this train so short. No baggage car as well.

Yup.....beautiful. The loco is actually a PA2. Sometimes mis-identified as a PA3 due to the FARR grills. (no such locomotive was ever produced)
