2. DRG&W's Soldiers Summit Depot in Utah in November 1971. The sign on the roof peak reads Soldiers Summit. 3. The front of the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego, CA in June 1964. Peach Tree Street is on an overpass over the tracks and platform. The depot is on stilts much like the CTA stations along the Dan Ryan Expressway. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peachtree_station

Amtrak has built a small station just to the south.

That is where the dispatcher's offices were moved to in about 1980, when they de-centralized Houston's office. I have a friend who as an SP dispatcher was moved from Houston to San Antonio, Roseville, Denver, and ended up in Spring, TX. |
