Nostalgia & History > Warbonnet Wednesday . . .Date: 11/28/18 16:31 Warbonnet Wednesday . . . Author: 3rdswitch . . . the first units painted in a slightly newer version of the famous Santa Fe Warbonnet paint were a few former passenger painted FP45 locomotives that were originally delivered in the Warbonnet paint job. Back in 89' and 90' Santa Fe ran a number of "RailCycle" specials between Los Angeles and Cadiz, CA, to promote a possible trash dump site at the later location. The dump site never materialized but back in summer '89 a pair of freshly repainted FP45's was leading one of the RailCycle specials out of the Alray tunnels on Cajon Pass. This is a repost from some years ago.
