Nostalgia & History > At Least One Will Live On...Date: 12/19/18 19:43 At Least One Will Live On... Author: BNSF-6432 Here's a scene my dad captured in March of 1983, before UP swallowed up the majority of the railroads it did. The MoPac had already been absorbed but it'd be hard to tell with the clean blue SD40 trailing on a westbound. The DRGW and SP still carry on unaffected from Uncle Pete for the moment. What's also interesting is a Rio Grande GP30 and two SP SD40T's in a clean state and not covered in grime, yet. The leading GP30 on the intermodal, 3010, wouldn't see life again after a career ending wreck on September 30, 1991.
