Various Diesels from Rick Burn's Collection

1. Here is a special one.  ATSF PA-1 62L, went to Delaware & Hudson 18 in December 1967 named G. W. Hockaday, went to MBTA, then to Mexico, became a PA-4 at some point, now in Portland, OR as Nickel Plate Road 190 nearly fully restored by Doyle McCormack.  Seen here in January 1964, probably in Fort Worth, TX.  Photo by Dennis E. 2. AT&SF F7A 224C in Fort Worth, TX in April 1968. Rebuilt as CF7 2483.   Tom Hoffmann slide, Rick Burn collection

3. Erie Lackawanna PA-2 862 Marion, OH in August 1964.  She was  built in April 1951.  Ray Sabo photo, Rick Burn collection.

4. SCL 1776 no other info, no photographer, Rick Burn collection.

5. UP SD45 3632 on N&W at Marion, OH on September 25, 1971.  Tom Hoffmann photo, Rick Burn collection

6. WC SD45 7638 began life as SLSF 930, Waukesha, WI on May 5, 1999 unknown photographer, Rick Burn collection

I think the SCL 1776 picture is at Savannah, GA.

I am always happy to see ALCO PAs in Santa Fe colors, but I find the RPO behind the PA nose even more interesting with hanging mail sacks visible through the windows.  Or do I need to get my eyes checked again?

I would bet the farm the 1776 is in Savannah.

I took a casual look at the same car, and concluded it was a dining car, looking through the kitchen windows.  Now, thanks to you, I think I agree with your "hanging mail sacks" observation.
