WAG Wednesday: Santa Fe flavor, all the way!
Author: santafe199

The name Amtrak may be new, but precious little else has changed. Go ahead, the weather is beautiful! Take that stroll forward and see what niceties the Native American vendors are hawking today. Observe the hustle & bustle around baggage cars. Take an admiring look at the timeless Red & Silver up front. By the time you head back to your car that omnipresent window washing contraption will be tending to this side of the train.

Another classic station-stop scene just as God & Uncle John intended...

1. Time-honored platform scene with Amtrak train #17, the "Super Chief" at Albuquerque, NM on June 8, 1971.

On my way back home from Doylestown (Philly), PA where I attended an 'East Coast Santa Fe Modelers' get together. Apparently they were pretty desperate for some presentation material. And they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Long story short: I came east and tortured them twice with my KS stuff, separated into main line and branch line presentations. Then I put on a third presentation of the best Santa Fe stuff I could find from the Gibson Collection. There were oohhhs & ahhhs to be heard everywhere...
