Nostalgia & History > Rare gem - Original CNS&M "Silverliners" in the summer of '62...Date: 05/15/19 21:33 Rare gem - Original CNS&M "Silverliners" in the summer of '62... Author: ATSF100WEST If this doesn't get your pulse racing, doubtful little will. I don't think I've ever seen a nicer image of a North Shore train outside of city images. To think it would cease all operations inside of seven months is beyond sad. Parts of the old right-of-way are visible around Racine, but even using "Historic Aerials", I could not pinpoint this location, using a 1955 aerial view. Original Photograph © 1962 by Richard H. Young; Bob Finan Collection of Railroad Photography.

I went to street view in GE3D and screen captured this angle, looking SSE, which shows the end of that home. Will add that info on the slide mount. Thanks Again! Bob ATSF100WEST......Out |
