Tunnel Motor Tuesday (far from a tunnel)
Author: railstiesballast

In June of 2004 I found this tunnel motor hundreds of miles from any tunnel and maybe 10 feet above sea level, in Aransas Pass, Texas, on the Gulf Coast.
To the UP it was just another SD-40, they never bothered with the intellectual challange of putting tunnel motors where there were tunnels.

How many tunnel motors were painted in UP?  I seem to remember they faded from the railroad pretty quickly.
