We had a hot-shot (981?) with 5 of those B-36s, which were still fairly new at the time. For some reason the lead unit had gone belly-up somewhere west of Wellington. I'm sure the inbound engineer told our engineer what was what, but all I knew was the engine was completely shut down. No matter, the other 4 units easily handled the train. It was very weird, almost spooky to be riding in a totally quiet cab @ 70 MPH. I'll never forget it...
