I took this back in April of 1986 at Gerber, California.

You don't see many photos taken at that location. It says SP to me good shot.

Yes, but it's so much more interesting now and the cabs are so much quieter! Can't believe
the UP annulled the Redding, no shame!

It may come back someday. Back when this pic was taken, there was one each direction per day. But there was a lot more work to do back then.

It looks like they are in the siding, as its jointed rail.  I do miss the Cadillac's. As JB said nice lash up.

Was 4305 one of the SD-9's assigned to snow fighting as it looks like an ice bar breaker folded down on the roof?

Yes, also the big flap on the door to keep snow out. There's often a number of modifications, horn heater, rotating storm windows often seen on ships, etc. There's also simply chasing the road number down on a well informed Roster.

Good catch, great to see four SD9's on any train.

Great Image! Love SP’s “Cadillacs”. So, I’d given up on EVER seeing anything from the “Nostalgia & History” category making the IOTD. Is there new management? Was litigation involved? Glad to see it, and Congratulations.
