Pittsburgh Light Rail 1985
Author: RRTom

1-2: December 1, 1985: Terrible Trolley at Smithfield Street Station and entering the South Hills Tunnel.
3: Pre-drone elevated view from Mt. Washington.  The PCCs were equipped with pantographs to run on the new LRT infrastructure.  This one is heading towards downtown on the former PRR Panhandle Bridge.  PRR called the wye junction with the Mon Line here MONON.  The J&L steel mills upriver are visible in the background.  They did not last long after this.

I'm done with photos for now.  I wish everyone a blessed Holy Week and let's pray for our churches to re-open!

Thanks for the photos from Pittsburgh, I enjoyed seeing them.  And a Blessed Holy Week and Easter to you also and let's pray that this pandemic will soon end and that everyone can stay well.

Another great look into the past of the steel city! I miss the PCC streetcars.
