Southern In B&W Author: MaryMcPherson After hanging out with Royal Hudson #2839 on June 3rd, 1979, George was headed home to Centralia, Illinois. On the way, he caught some action on the Southern’s St. Louis line.
1. GP35 #2526 is running long-hood-forward, just as the Southern’s brass intended, as it crosses the Wabash River entering Mt. Carmel, Illinois. 2. Now west of Mt. Carmel, the train seems to have grown a bit. 3. The train is caught one more time, passing the Southern depot at Albion, Illinois.
