Train Order Tuesday - Old and Weary
Author: RayH

This week's contribution is from the NYO&W, and I can guarantee that I didn't dumpster dive to get these. They were stored in a plastic bag with a 50 cent price sticker attached (along with some Erie and NYC stuff). I'm sure I got this at a train show in the 1970's (when 50 centa was actually worth 50 cents, and hard earned paper route money!)

In case anybody is wondering, NYO&W #101 was a GE 44-tonner.

Excellent and interesting TO set. #101 is still around but on the west coast.

Lol I don't know my Old and Weary roster offhand but I figured 101 was a switcher but not a little puddle jumper! Neat set of flimsies and how many do you see issues to a 44 tonner!? Goes to show that it don't matter the size of the locomotive, authority is authority and you've gotta have it.

Anyone know what O&E stands for before the engine number in the first form?

It isn't real clear, but what it actually is, is C & E, or Conductor & Engineer.

A little unusual for that date for the order to be typed on a regular typewriter and not
an all caps billing typewriter.

First time I've seen a "Caution Card".  Were these common?

And to use upper case I as 1. I'm not sure, but it looks like upper case O for zero as well.
