Anyone know around what year KCS stopped using cabooses on mainline and local trains?

Crew reduction agreement was around '85, and most roads started losing cabooses between '85 and '90.

Hopefully someone out there documented this and we can get a cllear cut answer. Good question.Was on a railroad-by-railroad basis. For example, SF trains around Newton first began working w/out them in 8/84. These were local jobs. The waycars actually returned the following yr and became an on-again off again process until being fully in place during 1991. Mainline jobs across the Middle Div 1st & 2nd districts began working w/out them in 1/85 but was not fully in place until the following yr. I will have to look in my father-in-law UTU timebook in that 85-86 time period to see what he entered (he retired @ Newton 8/30/86 and for the final two yrs most of his runs were w/no waycar working a pool turn.
