F-unit Friday - La Veta Pass SLRG 1100

San Luis & Rio Grande 1100, FP10 originally built December 1946 - rebuilt by MK; ex-MBTA FP10 1100 < nee GM&O F3A #805A, on east side of SLRG's Alamosa Shop at Alamosa, Colorado, Saturday, 10 October 2020.  Sharp paint scheme-!

Judging by the rust on the rail I'd say it is not used very often.  The paint sure has held up well.

Up through the late 1990's on the Cape Cod Railway at least, this unit still had GM&O's trademark poling pockets on the front pilot.  Looks like the Historic St. Marys Railway that had it next gave it a whole new front pilot, and took off the MBTA-era "bug-eye" red marker lights as well.
