The last time I was looking at the current welded rail through that area I believe I noticed it was stamped with 1971 so I assume the BN placed the welded rail through there soon after that.
Thanks for sharing the nice pool power that could be found there at the time. I'm sure that train was making the most of the fast track speed with the relatively new power. The Yenda Road bridge is long gone, and was never replaced. and are > these taken from Yackley Road's overpass? I remember many times westbound thru my hometown of Palmyra MO on the Brookfield Sub.with EL power. I remember many times the exhaust from those 20 cylinder EMD’s blasting branches out of our walnut trees as they pounded up the hill there.

My memory is I took these from the Yender Road Bridge. Note the bridge is over a curve in the tracks. Google can't find Yender Road in Lisle. I knew the bridge was gone, but the Road too? Love the detail of the fireman looking back to inspect the train on the inside of the curve! GN599 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Q glory! Was there a bridge at Beau Bein Boulevard? Is this the curve known as Calendar Curve to CB&Q fans? Chris Jacks Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/16/20 18:21 by ctjacks. |
