Santa Fe U-boats and CF7s at Argentine, 1984

1. AT&SF U36C 8760 built July 1974 and retired Sept. 1992, Argentine, Kansas City, KS, Duane Hall photo August 1984.

2. AT&SF U23B 6311 built Nov. 1970 and retired June 1983, Argentine, Kansas City, KS, Duane Hall photo August 1984.

3. AT&SF U36C 8760 built July 1974 and retired Sept. 1992, Argentine, Kansas City, KS, Duane Hall photo August 1984.  As I mentioned, Duane is a model railroader.  This scene with the shop building, a mono-rail crane, locos, and junk is full of modeling opprtunities.

It probably spent its last year or two in a deadline, but U23B 6311 wasn't formally stricken from the Santa Fe roster until August 1988.  Its build date was August 1970.

The second CF7 built.  Interesting that it has been retrofitted with an angular cab, but doesn't have the cab air conditioner whose installation that angular cab was supposed to facilitate.
