One of the last conventional consists on the Sunset is westbound entering the El Paso area passing the SP facilities.

Quite remarkable consist there. Appears to be all low
Level cars. Very unusual for the Sunset. I suppose the ex-Santa Fe Hi-levels were getting retro fitted for HEP. Also I am surprised to see the phase 1 paint scheme of the lead locomotive.

The last steam heat Sunsets were real rolling junk collections. The three consists used were handed down from the Starlight when it received Superliners. It was a real step down from earlier Sunsets that at least had Hi-Levels. Those had all gone to Topeka for conversion to HEP.
