The heat was oppressive and the light unflattering that June afternoon 2011 as the Ringling Brothers Red Unit accelerated westbound at West Daggett on the Needles Sub. All that railroad and circus history came to an end in 2017. A dozen or so years before a good friend convinced me to be in the ex-SP 8th Street Yard in Long Beach with him after the last performance. The parade of police cars escorting the live animals being guided to the train over the freeway on a closed street and into the railroad yard was a show that like the elephants that were part of it one can never forget.

Really nice photo of the circus train that brought back some good memories of chasing it here on the east coast!

I don't know if I have ever seen the entire Circus Train captured in one frame. Nice job!
