Those engines look like they were pretty good lugers. The train seems to be moving at a respectable speed.
Do you have any photos of Colby, Ks? On a family vacation to Colorado in 1952 I remember passing the UP engine house with a bunch of parked steame engines there. No date listed in the caption, but it is identified as a WAG Sr. photo of train No. 152. The 1073 was taken out of service for the last time at Argentine (Kansas City, KS) on September 6, 1952, formally retired in December 1953, and donated to Lawrence, KS for display in June 1955:
