Seaboard Coast Line Saturday
Author: swaool

A trio of former SAL Geeps with southbound tonnage on the Everett sub at Richmond Hill GA in August 1972.  The Everett sub was SAL's route from Savannah to Jacksonville and was later largely abandoned in favor of the former ACL route between those points.

Love the old Seaboard paint on that lead Geep. First rate image --  thanks.

What year did the SCL drop this line as a through toute?

Believe it was in 1985, so it I guess it would have been "Seaboard System" by then.

CSX abandoned Riceboro-Seals in 1985/86. The Riceboro stub from Savannah and the Seals stub from Jacksonville are run by short lines.

Great photo of a line that has little to no coverage. I hope you show more of the old Seaboard.

I'll second that. I think the best I've seen has been here on Trainorders. Anyway what a classic. Looks like they've got the petal to the metal! Trains don't sound as good as they did then either.
