The former NYC Alco C-430's seemed to congregate around Youngstown, Ohio under Conrail ownership. Their careers would be extended on the NYS&W and Western NY & PA. Here's three of them taken in July 1979.

Holy Crap they are beautiful !!!
I've run the 2050 and 2053, worked an overhaul on 2050  and rode a good many miles on 2054 in their post Conrail career.
Lots of adventure and the ever present ringing of alarm bells !

I like those Alco's!

I picked up a HO scale Bowser model of Conrail 2051 second-hand several years ago on impulse.  I was amazed how much I liked the looks of the blue C430 when I took the model from its box.  Thank you for sharing your photos.

Great shots of a beautiful locomotive. Running their last miles on CR, but still had a lot of life left. Can't help but notice all the cars in the parking lot too! I see a green Opel wagon in there. We had an Opel dealer in my hometown in the 1970's. Didn't last much past that. I haven't seen one on the road for eons, even a GT. They're GM-Europe only now, I believe. I wonder if they'd taken the GT and developed the Fiero concept out of that if it would have been more successful. Probably too many factors I'm not aware of.

Fantastic photo's.  Add the M&E to the list as 2053 and 2054 were sold to that carrier becoming their 17 and 16 respectively.  

All good but shot three has a lot to look at. I doubt much of anything in that picture still exists as shown here over forty years ago. That was around the time that much of the steel industry around Youngstown was shutting down. The automobiles add a lot to the scene.
