Would like any info on unit. Could have been EMC DS-2E for B &O CT Thanks Date: 02/01/05 19:49 Re: looking for B & O #2 switcher info Author: FT My brother, Ken the data man, says this is an SW, just SW. Records say it was sublettered
for B&OCT, though I don't see such. It was built 11-30-36, b/n 653, by EMC. Re # to 199 in 1942. Up grades in 4-55 to a SWm. Re # to 8422 in 1957. Traded in 12-70. You have a VERY old shot there, and for a roster shot collector, rare. on this picture from the rrfallen flag site: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bo/bo2amm.jpg It is an EMC SW built in 1936 with a 600hp engine as mentioned before, apparently bought to serve one of the Sears warehouses in Chicago area.It was transferred to Buffalo NY in 1952, rebuilt with a EMD 567 800hp engine and higher hood in 1955. Paint scheme is apparently standard EMC demonstrator scheme of the time, exact colors are a mystery. Thomas Eckhardt |
