Some Cabooses from a little while ago.....
Author: bill_whh

I have been scanning some shots and decided to do some Cabooses from late 90's early 2000's.
For me this is history. I grew up when they where popular and at the end o trains where they belong. Shot them going out of style. Still grab em whenever i can.

First up:
White Water Valley Railroad in Connersville, Indiana. They ran a caboose train in conjunction with the Day out Wiht Thomas. This is one of the Many they have that is operable and in very good condition.

Next we have a C&O bay window in Carlisle, Ohio. This is along the CSX Toledo Sub at north end of carlisle siding. There was at one time 5 cabooses there.

Here we see a chessie cab in use sitting awaiting it next assignment. Location is College Corner, Indiana on the CSX Indianpolis line. At this little spot is where the C&O of Indiana crossed. The line serves Fernald (somekinda nucleuar cleanup place) to the south and Richmond, In to the north.

This little creature is still in its resting place today in NS, ex-CR Mid-Reed Yard in Middletowm, Ohio. It has not been used since NS & CSX fought over CR. There was some bad oil put in her bunkers and they havent used her since.

Hamilton, Ohio. Great Miami took over operations of a Paper mill from CSX. The owner brought in his own power and caboose to help in operations. Line is about a mile of industrial trackage. The cab is used to shuttle dignitaries of the communtity around. Still kickin to this day, doing what is was intended for.

Just above the White Water Valley Railroad is the ConnersVille & NEw Castle Railroad. On hand they have an old caboose painted up in one of the Sister lines they operate.
Haven't seen this cab for awhile.
