Summer Camp Trains to Wolfeboro, NH
Author: mp16

When I was a teenager in the 1950's I used to vacation in Wolfeboro, NH during the summer. On several occasions I saw summer camp trains arriving at Wolfeboro station. As I remember it, the cars were rather old Pullmans that were used for such service. Does anyone remember where these trains came from ? When did the B&M end such service ? Since passenger service ended to Wolfeboro around 1936 it was always interesting to see the camp trains arrive. I'd appreciate any information that someone can offer. Thanks in advance to those who respond.

More than likely they came up from New York (or even farther south?). I remember seeing a postcard showing B&M GP9's on a camp special that looked like it might have been shot in the late sixties.
