Canadian Railroads > CN Camrose Sub Crane CamDate: 08/28/12 21:04 CN Camrose Sub Crane Cam Author: xcnsnake Ok, maybe not as picturesque as Dunsmuir or Truckee, but definitely out of the ordinary;)
Apparently a few days ago the roadbed at approx. mile 1.7 of the CN Camrose Sub partially washed out. A crane was brought in to assist with repairs: thing is at this location there is a rather steep ravine on both the East (pictured) side of the main and the West side of the adjacent East Edmonton siding. I guess this guy wasn't quite stabilized, and over he went. Word is the crane operator was injured but will be ok; the pizza he was having for lunch, not so much. Trivia fact: at the bottom of this ravine you can still see debris from the massive tornado that came through July 31, 1987. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 08/28/12 21:06 by xcnsnake. We took a "hospital" movement into Red Deer and returned with lite SD40's, a few hours later. During the time we were gone, a side boom CAT being used in the derailment clean-up / re-rail efforts, went over the bank, and landed on top of the local track supervisor's new Ford pick-up. Thankfully no body was hurt or in the pick up at the time.
Just goes to show, always expect the un-expected!! Locotrol2 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/28/12 22:30 by Locotrol2. Date: 08/29/12 09:50 Re: CN Camrose Sub Crane Cam Author: BobE Locotrol2 Wrote:

Somewhere I have a picture of a Dodge Durango with a chromed diamond plate hi-rail deck which the Bridge and Building master posed for us when it was brand new. So much bling on it, you would think he was a Fire Chief. Date: 08/29/12 20:01 Re: CN Camrose Sub Crane Cam Author: Locotrol2 > Company pickup, I hope, not personal.
