Spring Rain, a Derailed Switcher, and a New Sign
Author: loleta

1. CN switching the south end of Lynn Creek Yard, North Vancouver.
2. The same set of power a day later in the rain in West Vancouver. These ex-Oakway SD60s seem to have joined CN's SD40-2s in yard and hauler service. Like the BNSF GP60Ms that now work the LA Basin haulers, they've fallen from their former elite assignments.
3. Speaking of West Vancouver, the former BC Rail yard has a new name: McLean Yard, or Cour de Triage McLean if you prefer. The sign is in a rather odd spot; I wonder if they're constructing a new entrance.

4, 5. Oops. SRY 905, leased to Canexus for their chlor-alkali operations in North Vancouver, ran aground on the Seymour Industrial Spur. Here it is getting back on track.
Speaking of Canexus, do they still get barge service? I haven't seen a barge in their slip in quite a while.

New yard name I assume is in honour of David McLean . . former chair of CN . ..

McLean is still the chairman as of this date. Is he stepping down?

CN's AGM will be held in Vancouver next Wednesday and presumably the name of the yard will be formally unveiled then.

I wonder if there will be a train ride to Whistler and return? CN often seems to do that for visiting bigwigs.
