Canadian Railroads > Exporail's new SW1200RSDate: 09/20/14 14:56 Exporail's new SW1200RS Author: kgmontreal Fresh from the Exporail paint shop SW1200RS #1382 (formerly 7300) operated today on the museum's passenger shuttle. The paint work was completed only yesterday. During the coming week the number boards will be replaced to match the unit's original number.
Plans include replacing the conical stacks with the distinctive CN barrel-type spark arrestors. KG Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/20/14 14:57 by kgmontreal. Date: 09/20/14 17:34 Re: Exporail's new SW1200RS Author: DrLoco Jason Shron's not gonna like this! ;)
It Looks really nice, but is that new number on the battery box the right typeface? seems thick... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/20/14 17:36 by DrLoco. Date: 09/20/14 18:04 Re: Exporail's new SW1200RS Author: PHall DrLoco Wrote:

And the typeface on the Canadian National looks a bit thin. But what the heck, it runs and it looks good doing it. We all know that, as far as Canadian railway heritage is concerned, the universe imploded in 1961. To paint a CN locomotive in a post-1961 paint scheme would be insensitive to all of the guadrillions of sentient lifeforms who perished in the heat death of the cosmos. -Jason Date: 09/20/14 21:23 Re: Exporail's new SW1200RS Author: tsokolan Meh, I liked her better in the noodle scheme she came with when donated to the museum. Funny thing is, I have one of the original and one of the PSC rebuild builders plates for this locomotive. The original plate still has some CN orange on, so now it won't look good if re attached to the loco :)

We can reverse global warming by merely painting all locomotives into 1959 paint schemes. Very clever, Dr Shron.
