Trains at Spiral Tunnels
Author: YukonYeti

Once upon a time, one could get a great view of trains at Spiral Tunnels. Not so much anymore. The tress have grown from the viewing area, all but obliterating one's chance to see trains struggling up and down the Big Hill. (One must be a beaver to take down a tree in growing in the park.) Here the remainder of CP 8745's train can be seen in the distance as the GE approaches Yoho.

Yes today it's not even worth stopping at the view point for the tunnels as you see nothing but lodgepole pines

In 2007 I was there and you could see trains going in the tunnel, pass over it, and then go out of sight until they right upon you. I knew it would not be long before it all closed up.
