Canadian Railroads > Yellow Numbers

In yesterday's posting I mentioned that I was surprised to see an early Dash-9 that had its paint in good shape.  I was also surprised to see that one of its numberboards has yellow numerals, instead of the usual white ones on CN locomotives.  I'm not sure what the story is on 2506, but it turns out that it has been that way for quite some time.  Here is 2506 in the company of some new SD75Is at the Fairview Roundhouse on January 3, 1998.  I'm not sure where this Dash-9 has been in the intervening years, but my only other photographic record of it was in 2012, when it was trailing in 120's consist, and the numberboards weren't visible.
