Canadian Railroads > Crude oil move on CP Thompson Sub.Date: 11/25/15 15:25 Crude oil move on CP Thompson Sub. Author: Train611 Hello,
I have not seen too many of these trains through town. I am not sure of the originating point, or the final destination of this train. 1. CEFX 1048 and BNSF 5286 head up a westbound crude oil unit train out of Kamloops on a clear cold day this morning. 2. The unit train is waiting for clearance a couple of miles west of town. Buffer cars at each end. 3. And UP 5458 brings up the tail end. This is quite the collection of power on this train. Thanks for looking. 611 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/25/15 15:31 by Train611. I thought canada outlawed tankers hauling crude without end shields? Date: 11/26/15 14:06 Re: Crude oil move on CP Thompson Sub. Author: rschonfelder I wish someone in Alberta or Saskatchewan would put up some pictures of the loading facilities where these trains originate. Is it loaded with a balloon loop similar to the mining facilities? or are they shunted to make up the train?
