Scene of the collision
Author: Mberry

Ray Murphy posted last October about a collision between an amphibious boat and a train in the Port of Montreal at a crossing that is rarely used. I caught a train passing that crossing at my lunch today, with GP9's CN 4102 & CN 7054 backing a cut of grain cars past grain elevator #5.

The second shot is from the same spot as the first photo and shows the train crossing over the Lachine Canal a few seconds before.

The third shot is actually the first I took and shows the train advancing a bit, before beginning to back up.

That is grain elevator #5 and it has been out of use since approximately the mid-1990's.

That looks like where they filmed some scenes for the movie "The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet"
