Canadian Railroads > Another monster potash trainDate: 02/13/17 17:48 Another monster potash train Author: Mberry Another CN B730 with the now standard consist of two GE's up front, two more mid-train and 205 loaded potash cars was through Montreal this past Saturday. Power was brand new ES44AC CN 2981 and ET44AC CN 3057 up front and ES44AC CN 2806 & ET44AC CN 3068 as DPU's.
1-Just starting to pull after a crew change at Turcot West. A crewmember is seening at right doing a rollby. The train is about to duck under the eastbound lanes of highway 20. 2-The train now has ducked under the eastbound lanes of highway 20 as it passes the photogenic signal bridge at MP 6 of the Montreal Sub. 3-A wide shot from the same spot. Michael Berry Date: 02/13/17 17:50 Re: Another monster potash train Author: Mberry 4-The seemingly endless flow of potash cars parallels the westbound lanes of highway 20.
5-Walking down the overpass, I took this shot of the DPU's from ground level as I stood on the sidewalk along Notre-Dame Street. Thanks. With only four units, what speed does this train make climbing up from St. Andre Jct. to Pelletier? Or do they add power before then or take the train up in two cuts? TIA, Rob L. |
