Last week at https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?15,4484906, I posted up the last shot of a Field to Morant's Curve chase of the EB Rocky Mountaineer. At the end of that day, we drove to Cochrane to find a place to sleep for the night. All booked. So we went all the way in to motel city in Calgary, on Crowchild Trail near McMahon Stadium, to find a place. The catch is, next day's plan for the last day of our trip was to shoot in Cochrane! So, up at the crack of pre-dawn, but MacDonald's wasn't going to be open for another half hour. Okay, we'll go to Cochrane and that should use up the time, and we'll eat there. Oops, MacDonald's in Cochrane opens a half-hour later. Anyway, the target was the WB Rocky Mountaineer, #101, and we knew it would be early, so we drove to the east end of Cochrane, and hiked the shortest distance to put the bluffs in play along the Bow River. On cue, at 0733 on June 24, 1999, HATX 805 and 803 came back at us from Calgary with 13 cars, then we went for beans.

My understanding is that most of the on board attendants detrain at Canmore, along with the guests and the operating crew from Kamloops. A cleaning crew boards , along with a Calgary operating crew. The cleaning and provisioning takes place in Calgary and the train is turned. The outbound guests transfer from Calgary,Canmore and Banff hotels by bus, to join the train at Banff. The outgoing on boards and operating crew board at Canmore (about twenty miles east of Banff).

All guests off at L/Louise or Banff.
On board staff and engine crew off at Canmore.
Engine crew ch/off run train to Calgary: turned cleaned etc at Calgary. Reverse moves take place the next morning.
Crews on at Canmore, guests on at Banff. Or L/Louise.
