Canadian Railroads > 60 year old Canadian built GP9 in fresh paintDate: 04/14/18 08:43 60 year old Canadian built GP9 in fresh paint Author: stlrailfan Good morning ,
while she technically isn't in Canada anymore I figure it was worthy of sharing with you guys north of the border. My RR the Port Harbor RR owned by Respondek Railroad Corporation has just finished repainted ex CP GP9U # 1602. She was built in March 1958 by GMD London seen at Granite City, IL on April 12th 2018. I assume those are spark arresters over the exhaust stacks, but they aren't like any others I've seen before. They almost look like turbochargers (without the stuff the turbo usually drives), which I guess would act as spark arresters to a point. Obviously, nobody is worried about overhead clearances.
