Odds and ends from here and there
Author: loleta

Various responsibilities have kept me from taking many photos lately, but I've managed to get out there for one or two shots, close to home, on several occasions over the past month:
1. The weekly southbound Rocky Mountaineer passes under an abandoned gravel conveyer, south of Shannon on CN's Squamish Sub. (BC).
2. I should have brought my 10,000mm lens: train 570 at the south switch of Cheakamus.
3. 570 on a different day, also at Cheakamus.

From July 16:
4, 5. BC Rail 4609 switches ballast cars in Squamish yard.
6. Train 594 backs toward the Squamish docks.

On #2 I'm glad you did not bring your 10K zoom,(grin) it may have ruined a fantastic photo.

I'm in full agreement with the previous respondents regarding the second photo. Once you've got your roster shot of a GE or GM unit and know what they look like, the big context shots really do the job of showing the scale of a train in that monstrous natural beauty! Glad you used the lens you did.
