Canadian Railroads > More CP 7000 Into the Thompson CanyonDate: 09/19/19 22:49 More CP 7000 Into the Thompson Canyon Author: cp1400 As a follow up to SD89MAC’s pictures of CP 7000 in the Fraser Canyon at:
https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?15,4868745 I present a collection of pictures showing the same train from Cisco into the Thompson River Canyon to Ashcroft all recorded Saturday September 14, 2019. 1. Crossing the CP Fraser River Bridge at Cisco. 2. Leaving Lytton BC 3. Through the former station location of Gladwin. cp1400 Date: 09/19/19 22:50 Re: More CP 7000 Into the Thompson Canyon Author: cp1400 4. Along the Thompson River east of Thomson siding.
5. Leaving Drynoch 6. Passing through Spence’s Bridge cp1400 Date: 09/19/19 22:53 Re: More CP 7000 Into the Thompson Canyon Author: cp1400 7. Timing was off and we missed the opportunity to catch 7001 meeting the 7000 at Ashcroft. We settled for train 861 with the 7001 running second at Ashcroft Terminals.
8. CP 7000 leaving Ashcroft after meeting 7001. After years of bland and dirty GEs on most CP trains its a treat to see something clean and different. I can’t wait for CP heritage units to grace these canyons. cp1400 Date: 09/19/19 23:59 Re: More CP 7000 Into the Thompson Canyon Author: coach I absolutely love the old stonework and masonry of the bridge abutments and piers in that first photo!! Those real stone blocks are still durable and working a long time after they were set. A true statement to the work ethic and engineering of centuries past.

Especially like the first one on the bridge and the second with the searchlights (glad to see some have survived). Gary Date: 09/20/19 15:14 Re: More CP 7000 Into the Thompson Canyon Author: WW The clouds in #2 really make that photo special.
