Do Canadian train setup rules not require 'Buffer Cars" between locomotives and loaded crude oil tank cars ?

On unit trains buffer cars are not required, in practice trains which run to/from the US keep the buffer cars for the whole round trip.

Great shots as always. I've had to postpone my trip up there to railfan this year due to the Chinese virus. Hopefully can make it that way next year

Beautiful, beautiful shots.  Clean CP units are really shocking. Yes I know, they will get dirty and stay that way won't they.  Does CP even own a locomotive washer?
