Two days on CP Shuswap Sub.
Author: Train611

Hello,
On April 3rd a friend advised that 3 SD-40's would be working a westbound train into Kamloops.

I went out to Bromley, around 15 miles to the east of Kamloops to cpature the 5996 west.

However:

1. 8844 West came first with a unit coal train. Power is 2-1-1 for 152 cars.

2. Then 5996 West came past with 5908 and 6024 leading the train. This I was told was a Shuswap Work train with mixed freight heading to Kamloops.
The power stayed in Kamloops overnight.

3. Another friendly tip was received that 7019 was working a westbound grain train on April 4.

This is a neat location along the South Thompson River with a safe pull-over off  westbound TC Highway #1.

Thanks for lookinng...stay well!

Is that a full sized airplane landing on the bar in the river in the last shot?  Very cool!

I'm hoping the cross marks the grave of a beloved pet!

Hello...

The plane is a small one. The pilot brings it to the flat sandbar for landing and take-off practice sometimes.
Today we saw him with a fishing line in the river for a little while.
Then he took off and flew around as the train was approaching.

As to the question about the cross...I am not sure about the reason for it being there.

Have a good day...thanks for looking.

i have noticed these eight  SD40-2 units working out of Revelstoke since January  on locals and work extras

5750 5908 5987 6031 5996 6030 6012 6024

this morning  ,Tuesday,,an eastbound empty grain train had 8821--5936 leading with 9769 as the mid train remote would have been in Field around 10 am i expect

5936 is now over 40 years old
