The End = Last train has run from Prince George to Squamish
Author: Marcus

The last through train between Prince George, BC, and Squamish completed its run on April 7, 2020.
Service continues between Williams Lake and Prince George and between Squamish and North Vancouver.
For now, occasional service continues between Williams Lake and Exeter.
RMR has suspended its weekly tourist train due to pandemic.  It is not known when, or if, it will resume on this line.
Well known stations no longer seeing trains include Lillooet, Pemberton, and Whistler.

Will service return to these 220 miles of ex BC Rail main line ?

One of the last northbound trains passes the end of the siding that was ripped out at Darcy, BC.

On the last day,
it was fitting that one of Hunter's Illinois Central veteran locomotives,
IC 2458, in CN paint, lead a short train southbound.

1. At Creekside siding, CN train 570 is southbound.  Creekside is 11 miles north of Pemberton.
2. Last train passes Pemberton station.

8. Train 570 ties up at Squamish for the last time.
On the last day, the northbound train to Prince George, train 571, was annulled.

CN train 546 will continue to serve Squamish from North Vancouver.

It only happened once, during the Vancouver Steam Expo, that I was able to make a N Van-Prince George round trip.  A fantastic journey, made even better by the fact that passengers were welcome up front with the engineer.  Orignially, I had planned a N Van-Prince George-Jasper-Vancouver circle trip, but there was a line blockage in one of the river canyons.....so I had to "settle" for the back up plan.

I have yet to travel the Jasper-Prince Rupert line....sill hope to do so.
